Need a Pet Sitter or Dog Walker? Call Diane Grant at Personal Touch PetAu-Pair

Not too long ago we had to go out of town for a wedding. Our usual cat sitter moved away and I was a bit concerned about finding someone to care for our cats while we were gone. I headed over to Yelp, one of my favorite sites for finding great local businesses, where I found Diane Grant of Personal Touch Pet Au-Pair, who had some rave reviews. I contacted Diane and she sent me a description of her rates and services, references, the new client form, her policies and contract and two pictures from a few months back when she was featured on the Front Page of the San Mateo County Times.

The day Diane came over to meet our cats, we had just learned Bonsai’s cancer had spread to his liver. Although he still doesn’t seem to be phased by the disease two months later, at the time, we thought he wouldn’t have too much longer and I was concerned about leaving him for a week in case something were to happen. When I met Diane, I immediately knew she would take great care of all of our cats. She was very thorough and took the time to meet each cat and discuss their likes/dislikes, where they liked to sleep, what their favorite toys were, what they ate, special medications, etc.

Pet Sitter San MateoBonsai loves to sit on a window perch and look outside during the day, but his cancer is sensitive to light, so we have to keep our blinds down for the first half of the day. Since she was going to be coming once a day, we asked her to just leave the blinds down the entire time because we didn’t want to take the risk of the sunlight. Diane said she was in our area at the beginning and end of the day and she would stop by once she was finished with her dog walks to raise the blinds so Bonsai could look outside while we were gone. She wanted to make sure he still was able to do the things he loved to do, since he doesn’t have too much longer. Needless to say, we gave her our key the first meeting and already booked her for a trip we have coming up later in the year.

While we were gone, she called once just to make sure she had the proper directions for Bonsai’s medicines and emailed a few times to give us updates on how our cats were doing. Surprisingly, it only took them one day to warm up to her, which is amazing since it usually takes them a while to warm up to new faces. We came home to a very clean house and our cats seemed very calm and relaxed as if we had just been gone a couple of hours rather than a week.

I cannot say enough great things about Diane! She is truly a professional and would urge you to call her at (650) 743-8700 or email her at drgrantdesigns[@]gmail[dot]com if you are in need of a pet sitter or if you have a dog that needs walking. As you pet owners know, it is difficult to find someone who really cares about your animals as much as you do and having to worry about how they are doing while you are away can be stressful. With Diane, you will not be stressed out at all!
