Harry’s Hofbrau Redwood City

Harrys Hofbrau Redwood City restaurantHarry’s Hofbrau on El Camino in Redwood City at about Woodside Road is one of my favorite spots for comfort food in San Mateo County. They have just about every single roasted meat you could want (turkey, roast beef, pork, ham, corned beef, rotisserie chicken, pastrami, frankfurters and turkey wings are the regulars) and daily specials with everything from Mexican food to BBQ to Irish to cajun. The great thing about Harry’s Hofbrau is they always have the same specials each day of the week (including their soup selection) so you will never be surprised when you get there.

Cafeteria Style Dining

At first when I saw the cafeteria style – stand in line – way of ordering I thought well this can’t be that good. I was dead wrong. Their roasts are always good (not overcooked) and they have gravy that is almost as good as my mom’s (if you know her you know this is quite the compliment)!

I usually pick one or two things at a restaurant that I like and order it each time when I go to that restaurant, which drives my family nuts. But, at Harry’s I like having a half of a roast beef sandwich on dutch crunch with au jus to dip on the side and either a Caesar salad or, if I’m hungry, mashed potatoes with extra turkey gravy, (basically gravy soup with a scoop of potatoes). Yummi!

Harry’s Hofbrau Does Take Out, Parties and Catering

Harrys Hofbrau Redwood City restaurantNot only can you enjoy Harry’s food in their Redwood City restaurant, but you can also reserve one of their party rooms, get it to go or have them cater your next event.

Catering is especially affordable. The other day I saw a special where you get Turkey, Ham, bread, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, two sides and all the fixings for $13.60 per person. That has to be cheaper than buying and cooking all of that yourself when you consider your time and cleaning up.
